Rivarossi
The brand name Rivarossi comes from the name and hometown of the factory founder, Allesandro Rossi from Riva in Italy. Rivarossi produces locomotives in scales 0, H0 and N. It also makes trams and rails for track H0. Around 1963, Rivarossi entered into a partnership with Pocher, the manufacturer of model cars. That brand was taken over permanently in 1974.
In the 1990s, Rivarossi successively took over the model railway brands Lima (1992), Jouef and Arnold (1997). In 2003, the company went bankrupt; the estate was largely taken over by Hornby Railways in 2004. The production of model railway rolling stock under the names Arnold, Jouef, Rivarossi and Lima now takes place in China.
