Fleischmann

The company Fleischmann GmbH und Co. is a Nuremberg-based toy manufacturer. The company was founded in 1887 by Jean Fleischmann. In the beginning, it produced tin toys such as ships, aeroplanes, steam engines. In 1949, the company launched a model railway. It mainly produces model trains and accessories. About 20% is exported, next to Märklin it is one of the bigger brands.

In 2008, Fleischmann was taken over by Modelleisenbahn Holding GmbH, which already owned Roco. After the takeover, they still market model trains under the Fleischmann brand.
