Tamiya
Tamiya Inc. is a Japanese model car and model building manufacturer mainly known for its plastic model kits. Founded in 1946 in by Yoshio Tamiya in Oshika, the company was initially a sawmill. The abundance of wood later led to the production of wood models of ships and aircraft. In 1953, it was decided to focus the company entirely on model making.
Model series range from various military vehicles to civilian aircraft, motorbikes and cars. Scales range from 1/700 to 1/5. Tamiya also makes radio-controlled vehicles such as racing cars (RC car) and ships with electric motors and internal combustion engines.
